Welcome to Seedlings Day Nursery

Seedlings is a popular independent day nursery located in South East London.

We first opened in 2004 to cater for local demand and offer full day care for children from 4 months to 5 years. In 2010 we expanded by adding a new unit to provide 49 places altogether and we are open all year round.

Visit Our rooms page to find out about the provision we offer for different age groups.

Find out more on our About us page, including details of our latest Ofsted report which rated our Early Years Provision as Outstanding.

INSET days 2023

Monday, 1st May – Bank holiday

Tuesday, 2nd May-Friday, 5th May 2023 INSET days – staff training days when the nursery is closed for the children

Coronavirus Covid-19

Our staff members test regularly and are encouraged to wear masks. We would like parents to return to wearing masks at the nursery gates as well.

We are following the current government guidelines.

If you have Covid-19 you should stay at home while you’re infectious to others. This can be for up to 10 days from when your symptoms start. Many people will no longer be infectious after 5 days.

You can do a rapid lateral flow test from5 days after your symptoms started ( or the day you had your test if you do not have any symptoms) and another the next day.

If both tests are negative and you do not have high temperature, you’re less likely to pass Covid to others then you can go back to your normal routine.

If your test is positive on day 5, you can carry on doing lateral flow tests every day until you get 2 negative results in a row.

Please report any cases to managers. Thank you

Healthy Early Years London (HEYL)

Birthday celebrations in a healthier way 17th January 2022

In line with our aim to further reduce sugary foods, we kindly ask parents not to bring in birthday cakes from now on. Of course, we are not stopping you from having cake at home to celebrate. However, we feel that with a few changes, we can cut out around 20 extra treats for each child over the course of the year.

Different ways of celebrating:

  • Singing with the group as before,
  • Birthday boy/girl will be sitting on a special chair, wearing a birthday hat, can bring in dressing up clothes as well
  • We’ll have candles on playdough base
  • Parents are welcome to provide healthy snacks for children to give out to their friends in Cabin and Preschool groups as at that age they understand a bit more about sharing and giving
  • Healthy, fresh, uncut fruit – we will prepare the fruits on a platter
    • Grapes, satsumas, oranges, apples, pears, melon, plum, peach, nectarine, mango, pineapple, papaya, – no berries or nuts, please
  • No dried fruits as they are high in sugar – we use them as part of pudding for main meal not for snack

No vacancies until August 2023

We are fully booked in all age groups and have no vacancies to accommodate new children.

London Borough of Culture 2022 – Lewisham

Lewisham’s London Borough of Culture programme has been announced, celebrating change and proudly proclaiming We Are Lewisham.

From venues to parks and street corners, Lewisham will tell the story of its trailblazers past and present via music, dance, debate, public art and more.

With a call to action on the climate emergency and a celebration of Lewisham’s diverse communities, the year-long programme is inspired by the borough’s rich history of activism and standing up for equality.

Jointly led by Lewisham Council and the Albany, We Are Lewisham will bring together all of the borough’s neighbourhoods, communities and stories.
